- Why does God cause the tree of knowledge of good and bad to grow in Eden, but tell Adam and Eve not to eat of it?
- Why does Eve believe the serpent and not heed God's warning?
- In forbidding them to eat from the tree of knowledge, does God wish to test Adam and Eve or protect them from evil?
- Why does the "helper" that God gives man turn out to be the cause of his expulsion from Eden? Is God equally displeased with the serpent, with Eve, and with Adam?
