Chicagoans! Come to a Veteran’s Day Book Launch
Join us in supporting DePaul University’s Big Shoulders Books by attending the book launch party for I Remember: Chicago Veterans of War on November 11. The book weaves together the memories of 50 veterans of World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. These vets were asked to share their war experiences—both small and large—by submitting any number of “I remember” statements. This event takes place at DePaul’s Lincoln Park Student Center, 2250. N. Sheffield Avenue, #120, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Big Shoulders Books produces one book each year that engages intimately with the Chicago community and, in the process, gives graduate students in DePaul University’s Master of Arts in Writing and Publishing program hands-on, practical experience in book publishing. The goal of Big Shoulders Books is to disseminate free-of-charge, quality anthologies of writing by and about Chicagoans whose voices might not otherwise be shared.
