This science of reading focused 30-minute info session will show you how participating in Junior Great Books and using the Shared Inquiry™ method of learning addresses essential components from the science of reading for enabling all students to become engaged, proficient readers.

Join us and experience firsthand how we engage students of all ages in critical thinking, active listening, and thoughtful analysis with our inquiry-based learning method: Shared Inquiry.

This webinar will acquaint you with the Shared Inquiry method of learning, which is proven to engage all readers at higher levels of reading and thinking, as well as our research-based Great Books reading and discussion programs for grades K–12. This experience will be interactive, allowing participants to actively practice core Shared Inquiry activities, including a brief Shared Inquiry discussion with a rich text!

You can request a tailored info session on any of these topics:

  1. DEI and Junior Great Books (two 45-minute sessions)
    • Part 1: Creating a Conducive Learning Environment for Every Student focuses on inclusion of diverse learners.
    • Part 2: DEI and Junior Great Books/Inclusion of Diverse Cultures, Races, and Ethnicities focuses on inclusion of diverse cultures, races, and ethnicities.
  2. Social and Emotional Learning Using Junior Great Books and Shared Inquiry (one 30-minute session)
    • Learn how our inquiry-based learning method and rich content connect alignments and skills set out by CASEL, the Collaborative for Academic Social and Emotional Learning.
  3. Civics, Great Books, and Shared Inquiry (one 30-minute session)
    • With a special focus on civics education, we will show you how participating in Great Books and using the Shared Inquiry method of learning align with the teaching of civics, history, and government.
  4. Montessori and Junior Great Books Awareness and Information Session (one 30-minute session)
    • With a special focus on the Montessori learning environment, you will learn how participating in Junior Great Books and using the Shared Inquiry method of learning align with Montessori principles and practices.
