#GivingTuesday a Great Books Success
Leading up to #GivingTuesday, we received emails, photos, and stories from Great Books supporters around the country. In the spirit of the holiday, these supporters shared with the Great Books community how they are #GivingVoice through our books and discussions. We found that even though these stories came from readers of all ages, they shared a common theme: an affection for literature and an eagerness to give voice to their thoughts.
On December 1st our office was abuzz with excitement and activity! Throughout the day our supporters told us more #GivingVoice stories, we interacted with the Chicago nonprofit community via social media channels, and received donations. Check out our Facebook and Twitter accounts to relive all of the action from #GivingTuesday.
From all of us here at the Great Books Foundation, we thank you for your participation in this global event and for your continued support. We strongly believe in the power of inquiry and literature to enable people of all backgrounds and ages to speak up and openly share their thoughts and opinions. What’s more is that when one person gives voice, he inspires another to share his voice, and thus sets off a chain of conversations that can help change the world.
#GivingTuesday was just the beginning. We’ll be #GivingVoice well into the new year and beyond—won’t you join us in the movement? Click here to give your voice and provide more opportunities for others to share theirs.
