During the second week of March, as COVID-19 started to gain a foothold in the United States, we at the Great Books Foundation began making rapid preparations to begin working from home. Since then, we have quickly pivoted to offering as much online learning support to educators as we possibly can, including our K–8 digital materials and online training, as well as developing new ideas as we try to bring you the best in inquiry-based learning.
We’ve learned a lot along the way, and we know you have too. That’s why we want to hear your story. Please tell us how you have adapted your inquiry-based teaching and discussion to the world of COVID-19. Have you transformed your kitchen into your new teaching space? Suffered broken Zoom connections? Tried to coax reluctant students to speak during online classes?
We invite you to tell us your personal story, whether funny, sad, inspiring, or crazy . . . we want to hear your voice!
After we receive all of your stories, our staff will gather to pick our three favorites to publish on our blog, Great Books Connections. If yours is selected, we’ll send you a $50 Amazon gift card for your wit and wisdom!
We’d like to give a heartfelt thank you to all the teachers who are adapting their classrooms and continuing to inspire students and enrich their learning during this extremely difficult time. We look forward to hearing your story!
Please submit your story no later than October 22, 2020, to be eligible for the gift card drawing.
