Why Give

Reading, critical thinking, and civil discussion of important ideas matter more today than ever before. The Great Books Foundation seeks to make quality literature and discussion opportunities available to people of all ages. Help us to sustain and expand our community programs, professional development, and publishing initiatives.

“I think Junior Great Books is an important component of a balanced literacy program because it really incorporates the reading, writing, speaking, and listening components that are at the heart of balanced literacy.”

Angela Brito, Principal
Blaine Elementary School, Chicago, IL
